Think of these as stages: they are all related. making a list of the elements of your own bathroom like for example; what are you going to replace and anything you are planning to reposition, this helps you create a custom list of steps for a particular project.
THE TEN STAGES OF REMODELING OF BATHROOM
Remodeling of any encloses space a room involves a lot of individual processes and projects that have to be completed in sequential order. first, you have to know what you are anticipating for, from start to finish, the following section below gives you a breakdown of the remodeling states for the bathroom.
GETTING THE PERMIT( THIS PART APPLICABLE FOR ONLY FOREIGN COUNTRY)
Most building departments are very helpful and can make better suggestions to get the plan approved. if you are going to hiring a contractor or an architect to do the work, he must get the permit and you must see the permit before the work beginning. in most country, you have to display the permit before the job get underway or you may not display the permit.
CREATING THE WORK ZONE AREA
When the bathroom is the construction site, you have to remove all furnishing and personal beginning so that work can start. all construction creates dust, and now is the time to take preventive action. you may think that you will not see drywall dust in your rooms, but you will. that is why you have to contain most dust by taping heavy plastic drop cloths to the door.
Do not forget to seal the furnace dust for does of you who have it installed in their house because the furnace blower can spread dust throughout the house. lastly, place a box fan in a window so that it blows air out of the working zone area.
TEARING DOWN THE OLD STUFF AND DISPOSING OF IT
The size of the project will determine how much demolition if you are going to enlarging a bathroom, you have to adjust the walls. now, this step will affect the room connecting or sharing a common wall. example; if the closet is sharing a common wall with the bathroom and you need to empty the closet to borrow the space to enlarge the bathroom. careful planning of the place ensures that you have the utilities off for the shortest time possible.
FRAMING AND MAKING STRUCTURAL CHANGE
In this next step of the project; the bathroom is empty, the wall and floor are pocked with holes which makes the room very ugly. during this period your contractor frames the new walls in to create the floor plan. you were to install a rough framing outlining the new walls and building partitions around the tubs and showers in the bathroom. the old bathroom begins to transform with a smell of lumber the new walls and windows.
LAYING OUT OF ROUGHING PLUMBING LINE AND ELECTRICAL WIRES
The next step is to change the room with a new plumbing supply line for all the water fixtures (sink, toilet, shower, and tub). now if you plan to relocate the drain pipes, your contractor may have to cut up the floor and then reinforce it after you install the piping.
The new electrical boxes for switches, outlines, light fixtures, venting and heating, and cooling line. the electrical wire running to the box, back to the power panel does not on the power yet still work is done.
While the walls are still open and you can see the new plumbing and electrical rough-in and the wall framing, local building inspectors must visit the worksite and inspect the buildingThe new electrical boxes for switches, outlines, light fixtures, venting and heating, and cooling line. the electrical wire running to the box, back to the power panel does not on the power yet still work is done.
GETTING CODE APPROVED (THIS APPLY ONLY FOR OTHER FOREIGN COUNTRY)
FINISHING OF WALL, CEILING AND FLOOR SURFACES
workers hook up new outlets, along with heating and cooling lines, lighting and venting systems. now that everything is in place you have to must sure you have a good idea of what the room will look lie when it is complete.
NOTE: you have to write out down any problem that you have to discover and the date. this is known as a punch list. at this stage, you need to meet the builder or contractor and work through any problems discovered.
GETTING FINAL CODE APPROVAL ( THIS IS APPLY ONLY FOR OTHER FOREIGN COUNTRY)
The local building department makes a final inspection and signs off on the job. he/she will note any problems, which you have to correct before they issue the final approval.
BRACE YOURSELF THE DESTRUCTION OF THE STRUCTURE
The bathroom is only a room, but you be surprised by the amount of material that you are going to use to remodel the room. but you have to be mentally prepared yourself for being displaced for a while during the process.
WATCH YOUR HOUSE TURN TO A MINI-WARE HOUSE
The remodeling of the project creates stress. to make it go as smoothly as possible you have to think of the process and how it may affect family members. also taking account that the house becomes a mini-warehouse for the storage of a material to be used in the new room.
NOTE: you should protect wood products stored outside, such as flooring from the rain and bring them inside for several days before installation.
MAKING IT EASY ON YOURSELF
During these projects the contractors you may hire may become part of your family whether you like it or not preventive step during activity; creating tool zone surrendering to dust, voiding entering
BEING THERE 24 HOUR AND 7 DAYS A WEEK
During this project you have to be there to accept deliveries of material, have to be available in case a problem occurs.
